If you had your choice would you choose a walkin freezer or cooler for your trapping shed?

I have a cooler and nearly never have to run it. I live in a cold enough area and it is insulated enough that it stays cold enough even when I’m heating the main shop. I made 8 inch walls and have 30 inches on top.

Cooler. You can pack stuff in chest freezers if necessary, then hang it in a walk-in cooler to thaw. Or hang it while waiting to process, in which case you don't want it frozen.

Freezer for sure. Everything I have is either drying under fans or into the freezer waiting to be thawed out and fleshed so no reason for a cooler in my shop. Besides in Febuary when I am thawing things it is like a cooler in some of my shop. LLL

I know that some fur buyers use walk in coolers.

I have both but the freezer is what gets 90% of the use for my fur stuff.

Walkin freezer with a floor, but you better have some volume, they are not cheap to run.

You sure got that right Rat. Add extra insulation and that will help. Older chest freezers are more economical to run if that gives you enough room.
