Anyone ever make it, or try some someone else made? Wife is making it today. First time trying it. Has quite a bit of alcohol in it. Should be nice when winter comes.

Sounds like sour milk. I don't know anything about it, obviously. I am interested so let us know how it turns out.
Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.

The “mix” is eggs and alcohol. A dark rum, bourbon, and cognac. The eggs are mixed with alcohol and stored in a cool dark place for up to 8 months.

I have a ton of eggs; way more than the wife and I can consume. Come December we won't have enough. I, also, just so happen to have an excess of ethyl alcohol. That due to my overstocking to make hand sanitizer back when sanitizer and its active ingredient had disappeared from the store shelves. This aged eggnog is exactly what I need to level out my supplies. Will the eggs rot? Heck no! All of the recipes pretty much proportion the alcohol to kill any bacteria that may be contained by the eggs. If you still worry about the eggs, you can use pasteurized eggs, or pasteurize your own. To pasteurize your own: - put whole in shell eggs in a water bath
- bring water up to 140° F
- hold for 2-5 minutes
- immediately move to an ice water bath
Without using pasteurized eggs for fresh eggnog; you are much more likely to get sick.
Man who mistake shillelagh for fairy wand; see pixie dust, also.

Good info T-Rex. My wife’s chickens are laying really good and she’s been searching for ideas to store the eggs for later use. Aged eggnog was one idea she came across. Another is “water-bath”. Water-bath allows you to store eggs for a few months, and then use them as if laid that day.
We’ll sample the aged eggnog in 3 weeks to see if we like the taste. I’m hoping for success. I love eggnog, and rum.
Correction- it’s not water-bath, it’s water-glassing.
