Lots of good info, except one, trigger speed is tied into distance away from camera, so make sure you know what that is, as it makes a difference where or how you set it up.
Either high up out of reach of the average thief or down low because of distance to target to make the trigger speed acceptable. This prevents either a good picture or theft, which is your priority ?
Probably better to get different high end models than all of one type depending on you needs, they all work pretty much the same except the trigger speed, which ends up being the selling point.
Bears are uncanny with the nose and will always investigate them if in the lane of scent to that nose, be prepared for attention to them, from cats as well if using scent to create attention and you handle the camera with it on your person or gloves which transmit it to the casing.
Climbing up is better to save the camera than wrapping with a chain or cable, take climbing spikes not a ladder, it seems now that cameras are out there is a constant need to show off who can steal the most hidden camera !
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !

Most cams that get stolen are set in obvious spots. Corn feeders main trails. I think vast majority are taken because people don't want you to know they have been there. Idiots could just take the card same affect . Had one stolen this year I suspect for that very reason. And I hate thieves worse than trespassers and liers

Idiots could just take the card same affect . Another consideration: Buy a brand that has the threaded hole in the bottom of the housing. (My Wildgame camera DOES NOT have this threaded hole). This will allow you to use the screw in tree type mounting option. Take it from a game warden: those horizontal straps are easy for the human eye to see in a mostly vertical environment. Plus, the screw in mounts allow you to position the camera left, right, up, or down as needed. Straps are straight forward only and must fit around tree.
