Just figured we could nail this one quicker, here, than casting around?

Simply: Bobcat lure will pull Feral's.

But; Would it work the same for males or females? Would they be about equally interested in a scent?

The few times I've had to cage cats to get fixed, basically used cat collector, some cat turds and a CD or feather hung in the back.

Will the real question is will feral cat urine be a good lure for bobcat and lynx And coyote ? Throw the kitty litter box contents 3 feet from your cat set I bet you could catch every bobcat , Lynx and coyote within 10 miles of your trap. What say you ? Any one of you guys try this ? Marty

Are you worried you don't have lures that will draw in feral cats or are you tryin to find a designer lure that will cat h more of one sex than the other?

I know little about ferals except how far to lead them. Regarding bobcats I never could find a lure that did the work for me. I tried to release all the milk bellies and yearlings but the best way that I caught more Tom's than anything else was simply by using some strategy in determining locations and to hit it hard when they should be on the prowel.

I wanted to maximize my harvest but I wanted to do it year after year and in dealing with ferals I would think population control would be the goal.

What am I missin?.

Martyd, I did just that and couldn't keep coyotes out of the set. Tried it in different locations with the same results.

Thanks, guys.

Yeah; I was basically wondering if my bottle of Bobcat Lure may, eg. be drawn from tom's. If so, would it possibly interest or upset females.

I've no idea about these things. Maybe it's just made from what ever comes to hand? Maybe 'cat pee is cat pee' to a cat? Obviously, I have no idea what gender the cat(s) I'm targetting identifies as either. Could be Catlyn Jenner, for all I know.

Tom and Sniperb seem to have it though. In My case, it should be a cat is a cat. Cool. So, it's cool for cats.

If you have access to a lot of feral cats I would try collecting male only urine and anal glands. Single male coyote urine is superior when trying for coyotes, some very good coyote trappers swear it is better than mixed pee, maybe male cat pee would do the same ??

Castor seems to hold an interest for both bobcats as well as feral. Then again most ALL critters seem to be drawn to it. It seems most times causes a rubbing response.
