This ought to be good. LOL

Never met Clint but in my book he, like everyone else, is deserving benefit of the doubt. I've tried a few of his products and no I have yet to find the magic bullet yet but then again I haven't found one from other makers as well. Well there is Backbreaker, lol.
I will say I do admire Clint's online, youtube, presence. The guy has no fear of speaking his mind and I respect that whether I totally agree with him or not.

I honestly am not trying to bait anyone into commenting on a. controversial figure. I really did not know Clint was so controversial. I guess I missed those threads I was just wondering if anyone had actually tried the Hammer I already have a basket full of experimental lures and was trying to keep from adding one more dud to that basket. Lol

Ive done a good amount of testing of lures and baits in the last 4 years and will say my eyes were opened quite a bit from what I learned and from a lot of comments about attractants on this forum and a lot of others eyes could be opened if the spent a little time testing. Trouble with a question like this is your going to get a full spectrum of answers. And doing some testing on my own I started me to be able to see who really knows what they speak of. I will say when it comes to Locklears opinions I usually have found them to line up with what animals tell when testing(with the exception of his video teachers of the night on coyotes) but have never tested the above mentioned lure. Salesmanship does play a part in the success of a business though. Lures and baits only have a part in catching the target animal but through testing I've learned there sure enough is some that test better than others. The lack of actual testing going on and opinions flying around that don't line up with what coyotes tell me while testing is a pet peave of mine.

Never used hammer so can't say. Have used federales and have caught with it. It's different than most others with a strong smoky aroma and something that almost a pickled olive type smell. It hasn't been as good for me as some of my other tried and true like June's Widowmaker or any of the Cavens Minnesota or Hiawatha Valley or Predator Plus. I will say it seems to be a better flat set bait for me and definitely a change up bait from the usual tainted bobcat based baits. Will I buy again? Maybe but it won't be ahead of my go to baits. Honestly, federales intrigues me and I just don't know why.
Also have used his ground mouse and enrager ii liquid castor, not impressed. But maybe I don't know how to use it effectively.

I could care less about defending or runnin the guy into the ground but I do have a thought or two I could share. JMO, anyone making baits or lures needs to catch buyers and buyers alone to make their product line profitable. Anyone.

As far as Locklear he does sound like a hick and I suppose one could point out he looks like a hick too. That being said, he uses a rather scientific approach to solve trap line problems. His videos regarding bobcat trap placement and what he calls controlling the cat each time one comes in are proof of that.

That being said this is a sucky time to buy trap line products. Many seasons the first catch paid for big ol boxes of traps and paraphernalia but not so much right now.

I've used his delta red, enrager, and beaver buffet effectively on beavers. Have not tried his coyote stuff.

You can always just buy a small bottle and test drive it at a few of your sets next season. Just mix a few sets with this stuff in with your other sets and stuff you are already using and like. A few bucks for a small bottle won't hurt to try out.
I rarely buy big supplies of any new bait or lure until I've ran a few sets of it on my line alongside stuff I'm already confident in, and get a chance to see how it stacks up. That way I'm not out a lot of money or season if it turns out to be something less than advertised.
Always remember, good sets in good locations are key. There really isn't any magic in a bottle but some baits and lures will outperform others. Some can also seem to be offensive and animals avoid them. But maybe in a different location or region they work very well.
Go have some fun and test drive a little if you feel the urge to try something new and different.

Well I believe a $4 ounce bottle is the smallest he has and it’s 20 something dollars. Getting one small bottle and trying it out is usually what I do but like I said earlier I already have a basket full of those LOL. I just saw his video and was wondering if it could possibly be as overcoming to the coyote as he made out. I was just trying to see if it was even being used. by many on trapperman. Thank y’all for the replies.

Even marginal lure in the right location will out preform the magical lure in the wrong location imo.

Yes but what if you had the MAGICAL lure in the RIGHT location? Now that would be sweet and maybe why we are always searching and trying to find that elusive magical lure. Lol

As everyone knows there's probably not a magical lure that will get 95% of the coyotes to work the set the first time they encounter it but I don't think most people realize how big a gap there is between a top shelf lure or bait and some lures on the market. I tested some pretty popular lures or baits that had marginal at best attraction. I bet my idea of what a fast car is, is different than say Dale Earnhardt Jr's. We just don't know what we don't know.

Would you get marginal results with a marginal lure on a the right location?

The Hammer is good lure. I have used it, I still use it, and will use it again. I'm not saying it's the best lure I have ever used. I guess I don't know what lure I have is the "Best" out of all of them. Might have to review some notes and catch logs to study up on that.

But anyway, I like to use the Hammer at flat sets. I don't squirt it on the ground, I will squirt some on tall grass stalks or something similar. Or I like to use those extra long q-tips placed at the base of some kind of backing. Also the Hammer does not, or at least didn't come with a dropper to squirt the stuff. So I put some in a 1 oz bottle with a eye dropper cap to control where and how much I was putting places. The stuff is pure liquid and you don't need much to work.

If you will look on Clints Wolfernation YouTube channel he gives the recipe for the Hammer. I'd post a link but that is above my skill set

There are answers to many questions answered in the Teacher's of the Night series if you know what questions you are looking to have answered. I find Clint's methods interesting and helpful in developing theories as to why certain behaviors become repeated habits. I've learned much from him and others willing to teach.
