Last Thursday was my back surgery and was supposed to give an update. He changed some things, but surgery was still 8 hrs. Very happy with the results so far. Before surgery, I could lay in bed and not be able to pick up off the bed my left leg. Now I can pick up at least 18 inches off the bed. After surgery, my shoulders hurt so bad it brought years to my eyes. Doc told me during the procedure they had my arms fully extended over my head while laying on my belly for the full 8 hours. Kinda getting my butt kicked as I'm not bouncing back so fast. Spent 3 nights in the hospital, was home Sunday. Here is a picture of the screws and rods.

Hey LDW... hope all goes well and gets better in the coming days, weeks and months. I want to hear of some back surgeries with positive results. I am probably heading in the direction of back surgery also. I have spinal stenosis pretty bad, cervical stenosis starting, a slipped vertebrae, arthritis in my back and getting degenerative disc disease. My feet are burning and numb constantly and leg are loosing strength. Now my arm is starting to tingle and my neck cracks and pops a bunch. Going to have another MRI and have a couple opinions on what to do next. Sure has put a crimp in my active outdoor life style. Best wishes for you !!

Sounds like you are headed down the same road as I was . Try the Nebraska Spine and Pain Center in Omaha. I had Dr Woodward, he sent my scans and records to fellow surgeons all over the world for their opinions on treatment. Then on Mondays, the docs sit down and discuss the cases and treatments. Through all this they build a plan for you. They are very deliberate. This is all my opinion of course.

I had good luck with the Nebraska Spine Center in Omaha, too. My Dr was Michael Longley. If I remember correctly, he is from South Africa. Highly recommend those folks!

Keck, Dr Longley assisted Dr. Woodward with my surgery. He is one of the founding Drs in the Spine Center and Dr Woodward considers him one of the top spine surgeons in the nation. The Dr Woodward that operated on me this time is the son of the original founding member.

Yep, have to be healed up for trapping season. There's a bunch of coyotes out there that want a ride in my new buggy.

Just had my MRI yesterday, and found out I have advanced osteo arthritus, and severe stenosis in L3 -L4, and the doctors are debating on the next move. I hope all goes well with you and Trapperkeck, as I feel your pain. Zookeeper
