OK. I need some help guys. Have 35 clean cut Female in Heat coyote gland take this year from my coyote line I have them in the freezer now. I put them in sandwiches bags. One gland to bag. So when i cut them up froozen. With scissors The peices will be small like match head sticks. Then i want to rot them down. Question? How long to rot them dowm? 1 year? Longer? I want them to be different What ol time ingredients to add ? Want a lure no one else has. Smell wise. Dont cate about resaleing this lure So old expensive ingredients? What are somw old ingredients i can use?

I'll take a shot at it. I'm sure some will disagree with my opinion but no one else is taking a shot at it so....

Not sure if said glands will have a noticeable difference than normal glands (ive heard the In-heat phenomenon is very volatile and can't last) but there might be some other differences that might stand out to the target animal therefore I'd go fresh. I'd want them to smell just like they did when that coyote was alive. Aging might change any uniqueness they have now. A few of the lesser know things ive had success with in gland formulations is tinctured deer tarsal (seem to prompt a greater territorial response), phenyl acetic acid tinctured and jasmine. But I use them very very sparingly.

The in heat pheromones can not be held, if it could the perfume industry would have done it years ago. I do mine fresh ground and preserved right out of the food processor. add Lovage and a bit of Asaf tincture to get it out there. Makes a great pacifier to add to them there sponges LOL.. No need to rot it, they'll smell it fine and its way more natural. Add a little red fox urine to some and compare results

OK. I dont have to rot it down. Just wanted something good. That was different. Last job i was on got me thinking about all the anal glands I have saved so far. I just will keep them frozen to i decide to cut up. Lovage Oil Trappergbus? Saw that at Grawes website. Going to try Grawes Old Dog Coyote Urine. So i may ge some = Lovage Oil. Astf and what else would be good to order?

Do you save the coyote bladder urine? If so, I'd pour that over those cut up glands. Cant buy that smell.

Swamp Wolf. Most coyotes pee all over themselves when they see Me coming there way! LOL! I dont have much luck getting urine from coyote bladders. Some people do. Maybe theirs a trick to it? I only seam to get the empty bladder ones

Most do empty, but as many as your snagging I figured you might get enough for a batch of gland lure. Maybe save those empty bladders amd mix those in with the glands.

red fox gland isnt magic in a jar but it gets a coyotes attention most of the time. so will bladder pee from a bobcat. put a couple drops on a bobcat foot and make a dirthole with the fresh foot for bait. put it only a couple inches or so from the top of the hole jammed in tight. not magic but will often get a sniff when everything else is being ignored

Danny. We havent had Red Fox in a LONG time here Every year or 2 i might catch 1 or here of one being caught. Sure do miss those stink little devils. Grey Fox are few too! Landowners blast them evwry chance they get. I going to keep cutting out glands on the jobs where = I can just Pull the dead coyotes off in the woods Thanks for all the replys. Keep um coming

Yep the oil, I tincture the Lovage in ever clear added in small amounts till ya can barely smell it. It doesn't take much bladder urine to be effective in the formula.

The oil is much more potent than the tincture. I have the oil, and I also do a tincture. The only drawback to the oil is that it's pricey. It costs me over $10. an ounce to get it. I sell it for $15. per ounce.

The oil sounds good! Im not worried about price. I wanted something different. Im not going to use it everyday. Sort of a = special when I need it , smells different, keep in my back pocket, for a rain day or slow catching coyotes trip! LoL!! Thanks Please keep the ideas coming !

To the consisity that you like, and of course coyote urine to make it thinner.
lovage oil is good stuff , sounds crazy but less is better than more.

From what I have learned with heat or estrogen, dealing with deer is you can not keep it just too volatile. But what can be kept is the solids or mucus that also is in the mix and is associated with the heat cycle. This is one reason a buck coming into heat urine or scent can be pulled off by a real doe in heat. but the scent will not pull the buck off the real doe. I would think the same is true with the glands from a female coyote in the heat cycle. I also think that aging them would destroy the other heat cycle parts in the mix. and would be of interest. I would think using them and stopping them as close to the live coyote would be an advantage.

They are on ice in zip lock bags in freezer. Till I decide what to do with them. All female glands. Maybe they were not all = in heat. But it was from 35 grown females. During the breeding seson

What exactly did you save? I'm assuming anal glands. are these trimmed of all fat and hair? Any hock or neck glands? foot pads or gall bladder? I would take a quart and bury it for a couple years to age .
That should leave you with a quart to experiment with and what ever you have left over freeze toward your fresh reserve which you'll be adding to this next season.
Take the quart your going to experiment with and put 8 oz in alcohol to preserve and tincture , put 8 oz in coyote urine and you can freeze this or leave it on the shelf to age.
So that leaves you with a pint to mix any way you want. You may want to try adding rat musk beaver castor civit musk or cat glands maybe rabbit urine or mink musk.
If you want a thick paste lure make a base using skunk oil (rendered Fat) and sheep tallow or if you want a liquid to pour use a base of grape seed oil. Or get creative and whip up some egg whites a dash of garlic salt maybe a sprinkle of cinnamon. you wont know till you try,

Thats sounds good. I just didnt have time for collecting female urine on that job. I can cut out anal gland and drop in cooler in a min or so and keep on rolling. Maybe next trip i will try to get some female urine
