Has anyone ever sold neodymium magnets out of computers to your scrap yards...?

Its a "rare earth" metal that supposedly is highly sought but no one around here wants the magnets. I have about 8 pounds of them. I know some people can sell them on ebay but it seems sort of hit and miss if there's a real market or if a person just chances out with someone who likes playing with the magnets and has some small use for them.

I thought it must be going up. A guy just stopped and bought my old junk min van at my rent house for $225. I thought that would be about what I would have gotten out of it if I loaded it and took it in.

I have 2 more junk cars at the farm and several small piles of scrap. Rusted hay rings and gates.

Heck will be nice to get it cleaned up. Selling the van$ bought some Win 296 for my 357mag carbines and for my 300 black out.

Must be up a bit. Used to sell a lot of carbide and alloy and the phone has been ringing lately with buyers but I haven't asked price.

Scrap steel prices have remained low while the price of finished product has gone up significantly. There are challenges on the demand side with pipeline construction being stopped and auto mfg slowed due to lack of computer chips, but so far finished product prices have maintained at a level that has resulted in record profits for steel producers. It seems to me if this continues then higher scrap prices will come.

That truck weighs almost 2 tonnes = 400$ USD so load some other metal as well

I work in the recycle department for a mining company, (catalytic converter's) recycle the platinum and padium and rhodium.
And wow here lately we we been getting flooded with it.
They say it is going to hold about two years for pgm metals.
But who knows for sure, I hope it does.
We get 3-5 semi trucks a day , 25- 29 bags of it 2500 to 3000 lbs. A bag
Hard to believe that there is that much to recycle, I would say over half is
Stolen catalytic converter's .

I just call local recycling metal place, no pickups , u bring there, the only local place I trust, I have no ride back if bring in, call junkyard to pickup, I sure major price drop, possibly bum check, I have no catylitic converter so incomplete, $20 less, $160 ton, so maybe $240 if bring there, not bad, wonder my tow ins would, probly not, still I have to stand there see what weight is, I don't trust these junkyard places , an probly not allow, not that fantastic at all, probly be lucky get $125 if junkyard pickup an not give u bum check , I had close relative had some junk cars an other scrap metal years ago , came out pick up an wrote bad check , most these places are pretty shaky , kinda down metal places, over 4 years work 2 them an kinda rough times, hard work an not best pay, also very dirty grubby work

If you have another truck could you pull it with your other truck with a tow bar. {borrow one from a friend) Will they dock you if it has glass or rubber (tires) ?

Not made pull it, I have call my ins co an see they say about tow salvage, not best idea ask them that as ins there, I rather doubt it, hard get thru live operater as roadside assistance is fine by gyro or gps on ur pH an automated tow ins system
