Trapperlee, I'll try to answer a few for you... Suppressors not legal Thermal I believe legal to buy but you can't hunt at night here (Ontario at least) Ou need a license to purchase guns and ammo which requires a weekend long course,a test and a background check You can purchase and take home a gunin 15 minutes and we can purchase guns and ammo online and have them shipped No real limits on ammo that I'm aware of Laser sights OK for target but not hunting Handgun laws are a whole other response
Just happy to be here.

White Marlin, since we require licenses there exists a de facto registry of "licensees" so...yes

Yes, we suffered with a registry formany years. It was exponentially more expensive than estimated. Finally got rid of it under the Harper government. It sucked and it didn't save a single life. There is scandal brewing now as it seems that the RCMP did not destroy registry records despite being court ordered to do so.
Just happy to be here.

I recently had an assault charge against me and the police flagged my P.A.L (possession acquisition license) (need this in order to buy/own a firearm) and when I went to Cabelas to buy a new gun the guy told me I wasn’t allowed to buy it until I get this cleared up. I called the police and had them remove the hold that was placed on my license. The officer told me he has no clue what kind or how many guns I have.
I would say they don’t know what a guy has unless they see it with their own eyes.

I would agree with you JP...they will only know whether or not you are licensed. Theoretically, they could know about any guns you purchased during the years the registry was in place but they'd have no way to know what you sold, bought or traded after the law was repealed

How are the AR’s in -40? Would be alright to have one but what I have does the job and that’s all I’m concerned about. Carry on though, it’s entertaining now that hunting is done for the season.

The needing a license to own or buy part bothers me, no matter which country you're in. Trapdog1 a dilemma. How about mental cases including violent holy warriors. Should they be able to buy unrestricted? Other side is who decides who is a mental case and where does that slip into who is an enemy of a paranoid left or right state. I am imagining your theory might be let everyone have guns and deal w the nut cases yourself if necessary. After all there is not a police man by every house and even if there were nobody will fight for you like yourself if your butt is on the line. I will go with sanity checks/licence in order to buy firearms acknowledging in a govt. that, goes far enough left or right, paranoia can get anyone who disagrees on the banned list. Not a black and white question. The question is related to abortion and capital punishment and not always black and white in IMO. Threads like this will come and go and the arguments have all been presented and no one has anything new to add.

Every day there are new threats to our 2nd Amendment right. The argument does change. We have full-blown communists running our country. That's hyperbolic, they're just lunatic leftists but they present a threat and need to be addressed. If you had consensus on the issue something might be done but we don't have that. I have a problem letting people I don't like or trust dictate my life. I'm no threat to anyone until they are a threat to me. That goes for the overwhelming majority of gun owners in this country.

If was certain rather than strongly suspect the election was stolen, what happened in DC would not have been so peaceful. I am not the only American who is not sure.

I'm with you, Danny. These aren't benevolent people we're dealing with. They are trying to crush the American people.

Looks to me like Canadians don't want any guns they can't have. All them guns the Man Queen says we cant have,,I didn't want one anyhow. Yea right,,,BWAhahahaaa All them guns the man queen says we can't have are still hanging in the gun rack and being used when ever we want them to use them... and always will...... But you are right, Why would I ever want an AK, AR, whatever

But you are right, Why would I ever want an AK, AR, whatever I made it to sixty years old before I had any desire for one. Black rifles never appealed to me, not until I saw the attempted hostile takeover of my country.

The attitude of "I don't need one, so nobody else does" is how we will lose them all
