Not notice anything unusual that I notice much , check u joints by pull sideways or up an down an tight, the rubber around u joint look good, I have manual trans, when in gear park, is it normal to be able to rotate with both hands the driveshaft rotate back an forth a little an have inch or 2 of play ? I think this maybe normal as if tight there be damage if tight ? Not sure, was try Google info but not find it , was reading something about pinion yoke, don't know as if inch or 2 of play in driveshaft back an forth rotation before engange against gears in rear end is normal, maybe as if tight it damage stuff ?

Probably more like 1/2”-3/4”. If you have 2” you’re probably missing a tooth on the ring gear. Or you have a spyder gear blown. If it’s not creating a noise or vibration LEAVE IT ALONE!

Thanks for replys, I never measure it, was look it flashlite after work an heard noise but not that, can hear it when get in box when shut off or step brakes or push down rear bumper, crud up on springs or somewhere when flex, stuck fluid film, heard bfore but louder, sometimes hear noise when let clutch out over a year with high clutch release but I believe worn clutch with high release for longvtime, not notice any vibration or driveshaft or u joint noise when let clutch out or accelerate, ok so back lash an normal an nesscary to have skip or if tight it damage ur rear end, likely , I notice no noise when drive or drive slow with windows down an listen

Sounds normal to me. Do you want to come to Virginia and check the backlash on my family's Colorado?

100% agree with all. Play in both directions is necessary.
