I didn't know what was wrong with the Gazetteer I had on the dash but my son was pulling up directions on his phone so I rolled with it

the Google descriptions were just stupid , bear slight right. Does that mean I should take the on ramp ? he looks at the map , yes take the on ramp

you see those apps need an option for I am pulling a trailer , if there was one he couldn't find it.

I've always muted my GPS's and map apps. Ever since the early days when I'd use a Garmin to drive to DC. I always preferred to loop around the city and come in from the south. The Garmin always wanted me to drive right through the middle of that craphole. I got tried of hearing "recalculating" a million times.

Since then I keep them all muted and just look at route and exit numbers and distances.

I hate the Google lady too. She makes pointless turns and comments. I just look at the map.
I wonder how many people have sued Google for bad directions.

I do know arguments have occurred about using Google maps vs actual knowledge.

I like the maps if I have no clue where I’m going, beats studying the paper maps especially if you made a wrong turn. I’ll use it sometimes for time estimation or to tell someone when I should be arriving. If I know the way I’ll put it on mute. One good thing is it will let you know about traffic congestion and have followed it around a bad wreck. Did it save me any time? I have no clue whether I would still be sitting in traffic or not, but my truck never quit moving, lol.
I have a buddy that uses it for everything, even if he knows the way. We left the same time with him following me when I notice him turning. I just figured he had to find a spot to take a bathroom break and continued on my way. I had been at the job for 15 minutes when he comes rolling in. I asked if his stomach was ok and he said he just followed the little voice and ended up in some farmers field that “used to be” a road, lol. He then had to find his way back to the main road and the route he knew to begin with.

my cousins were headed from TX to GA for a wedding , traffic on the interstate was a mess so the google lady provided an alternate route , they were fine when it went from a county road to a gravel road , but when it wanted them to turn down a dirt 2 track they were a little hesitant , just then a car was coming at them down the 2 track , car rolled down it's window they said "You following google directions?" yup. well don't that 2 track ends at a creek 2 miles in we were following them also. 4 more cars came out of that 2 track while they were looking for another route.

I don't think you can actually sue them , it is like the fishing maps , they deny all liability for accuracy in the fine print

we were in Lacrosse and the google lady decide we should take a closed road , there was a parking lot right before the closed road that I used to turn around with the trailer otherwise I was backing up a block with the boat. which I have don before with other trailers
