Been staying in Forks, Washington since Friday, what a beautiful place!!!! Hiked several trails in Olympic National Park, have elk nearly in our backyard at our VRBO rental, people very friendly. This is some of the most breathtaking scenery I have ever seen in the US. Colorado and Wyoming are up there too, but this place.....

We flew into Seattle a week ago, spent one day, then headed to Mt.Rainier for a couple days. Seattle wasnt bad, but one day in a big city is enough for me. Lots of homeless....

Rainier is awesome too, but I like ONP much better. They even gave me a yearly pass for all national parks in the country because they asked if I was active military or a veteran.

I would highly recommend a trip out here!!!!!!!

Yep Forks & LaPush are scenic areas for sure.

You might enjoy Port Townsend or Whidbey Island also. A bit more populated but scenic. You can catch a ferry back to the SeaTac side from either location.

LaPush beach is closed, had to settle for Rialto and Ruby Beaches. Ruby beach was awesome! We caught it at low tide yesterday..

The only problem with Forks is it's in Washington.

I spent quite a bit of army time at Fort Lewis in 1967. That was one of the better army posts at that time. Winter was wet and rainy. Summer was dry and hot.

Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.
