Does anyone know where to purchase Mast lures ?. Sterling says they are just about out of items and they could not contact the recent maker in order to resupply. Montgomery Fur don't even have Mast lures listed in their online catalog anymore.
I understand the lure was being made in California.
Thanks for any information.

You might try Rocky Mountain Fur in Caldwell, Idaho.

It is possible Mast lures are no longer in production. When Frank Terry passed away, the brand changed hands several times and I’m not sure who owns them now.

In my opinion, they WERE great lures. James Mast made a quality product with high end ingredients. When Frank Terry took over the lure business, he continued that tradition. I talked with Frank when the FTA convention was in Oregon (1976?) and he said it was getting more difficult to get some of the ingredients but was doing the best he could to maintain the high standards. Also, he was reluctant to raise the price. I think at that time an ounce bottle was $1.75 or $2.25. Imagine what the price would be today. LOL

When Frank sold the lure business - 1990s ?? - I’m not sure the same high standards were continued. I’m not sure who even owns the business right now.

I do not see any Mast lures listed on Rocky Mountain Fur site. Around two years ago the topic of Mast lures came up here on T'MAN..... Some member here knew the contact information of the person that still recently made Mast lures. I remember it was from the northern part of California. Also, The Mast coyote food lure is a good one.

His Indian coyote #2 was rather powerful. You could smell the skunk without ever cracking the lid.

Wild cherry muskrat was so sweet, a person might be tempted to taste it. LOL

Overall, Mast’s lures were some of the best during that time period (50s and 60s and 70s.

They no longer make any lure, many of the ingredients are no longer available.
