Another 30 years they will have all the populations forced into the cities except the essential works that produce the food. They will do it by making living outside of these cities to expensive. Everyone in the city will be dependent on the government and much easier to control. Look for high speed transcontinental rail line to start it.

Dependence is rampant, and has been for the last 100 years. City. Rural. Downtown. Uptown. Outta town. All the same.
And here we are.
The cultural education and pressures to get on the gravy train(s) as often and as much as possible are still very much in effect and I'd even say "expected" in 2021.
I guess America will discover how high the tab can go. We are in uncharted waters but there's not as many trying to get off the trains as trying to get on them in 2021. Same old, same old FDR'ism.
More and more of our culture is subsidized by borrowed money and I always remember that old saying, "the one holding the note plays the dance music."

In a culture of capitalism, it's easier to purchase products with capital. Where we prefer to get our capital, based on our living situation, says a lot about our values.

Rural folks can fend for themselves and they would be harder to control but them city folks are about totally dependent on others for what they need. Just look at the popularity of baking breads and planting gardens when things got iffy.

They adapted to our ways not the other way around as they produce nothing to live on and consume everything to live.

How true. My Dad said during the Great Depression, City relatives would always show up on the farm on Sunday, and tell my Dad how lucky he was to live on a farm. My Grandmother would always feed these city relatives even though my grandparents were very poor. My father always said that they were poor, and the farm didn’t make them much money, but he said they never went hungry.
