if its vacuum sealed it may keep 2-3 years, I'd personally pitch 4 years old either way?

it all depends on the bag
open one see if it is freezer burnt and thaw it .
give it the sniff test , break it apart
in a good vacuum bag I found some 2016 venison in 2020 and it was just fine
in that type of tubes not as long but it depends on your freezer some
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Before you pitch it, make sure it has lost it's good taste, and even if so it makes great dog food or trapping/fishing bait.

Best way to keep meat in the freezer is in big chunks.Process as you go.Any freezerburn can be trimmed off before grinding or steaking. If that pre processed stuff has turned, keep it for bait.

Never had venison last longer than one year, we eat it up. I would imagine it wouldn't taste too good after a few years. Feed the old stuff to a dog or make trapping bait out of it. Maybe think about shooting less deer this year if your not eating it for four years

Crock pot it with onion, carrots, red and white beans, garlic, crushed tomatoes and potatoes all cubed/ cut up. Cook for a day then eat. Why would you ruin the taste of venison with all that other stuff?

When my Verizon account got frozen I just paid the bill and it was up and going again.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

most in thes etype of bags In a "Frost free" freezer, I have seen those bags get freezer burnt in a year or less. If it's not freezer burnt, it is still good. If it is freezer burnt, it's still edible but will taste like crap.

Venison, as stated by some folks above, will last a lot longer than it should. Take it out of the package and look it over. Freezer-burned meat is very easy to spot. I have eaten it that was 10+ years old (don't ask!), and as long as it isn't burned, it will be good, especially in stuff like chili or goulash. The key is to have it sealed with NO air in the package.

Crock pot it with onion, carrots, red and white beans, garlic, crushed tomatoes and potatoes all cubed/ cut up. Cook for a day then eat. Yep, just try a little and you’ll find out. The more seasoned up, the more you can cover up any off taste. I’m sure the outer 1/4” or so is getting a little goofy but inside it should be fine. Another option would be to make snack sticks or something like that. Happy trapping! ScottW
