They don’t vote right to matter to DC today, funny how we have a open border on just a certain end of the country they don’t even try to hide the hypocrites today. I think the democrats are going to find in future fair elections, if we get them, that hard working Hispanics from all over the World don't care for socialism and communism, which is why we saw the huge jump in Hispanics voting for President Donald Trump in the stolen election. Keith Hispanic voters are the main reason the country has gone so far left. They almost always go 70/30 in favor of the Dems with the sole exception of Cubans who are around 50/50. Most Hispanic countries continually flirt with socialism/communism etc. It shouldn't be a mystery why Cali,NM,AZ all went from Red to Blue, Texas is next and it is mainly due to Hispanics.

If you take in tens of thousands cuban refugees again keep them quarantined in FLA. The regieme will ship all the covid positives and FLA is already infested. IF you take in Cuban refugees they would have to be properly vetted and that would have to include Covid testing. I recall when Carter was president. He took in a lot of Cuban refugees without properly vetted them later to find out Castro had cleaned out some of his prisons by sending Cuban criminals to America.
Most in this country have things people in other countries only dream about. Yet, they want America to be more like those other countries.

Biden got 66% of the Latino vote. Latino voters are a major factor in several Red states going Blue which helped get Liberal legislators elected who changed election rules and laws "due to Covid". Hoping that the Latino voter is going to save Conservatism is the most glass half full outlook I've ever heard.

Cubans are not Mexicans big difference Cubans fly the US flags often Mexicans often fly their flag apples and oranges. The shift to Western States come from the West coast and it not about Mexicans as much as Liberals fleeing their own mess.

Well I was responding to Keith who was talking about Hispanics as a whole so... As far as Western states go, the change in politics coincides with Demographic change, that knowledge combined with known voting trends by demographics paints a pretty clear picture as to what is happening. In California you have 37% of White voters self identifying as Liberal and 37% Self identifying as Conservative, if 65+% of Latinos then vote Liberal it is easy to see why California continues to fail in producing Conservative leaders.

I gather that there's some sort of pride or bad blood between the two. I recall some of my Cuban teachers referencing castilian vs mestizo.

I have to say I really like Cubans. Spent a week on the Island in 1998 and traveled around staying illegally in private residences. Got to see their ration cards and met some great folks. Cubans are a very friendly people. They get monthly allotments of staples from the government stores (including cigars). But a family was allowed such a small amount of food that the only way to make it was selling things on the black market to tourists. Since I speak Spanish I had some wonderful conversations with people about their feelings for Castro and the government. Mostly I would say the dominant thinking was they were proud of their revolution, but felt like Castro had overstayed his welcome. They never said the word "Castro" for fear a neighbor might hear them and get turned in. They would just make sign language for "man-with-beard". Many of them had nice little homes with TV's supplied by the government.... but no toothpaste or toilet paper (luxuries).
You could walk around Havana at midnight with zero fear of being robbed since armed robbery is a capital offense there. (As is rape).
And yep, there are a lot of nice old cars. But mostly there are newer Russian and Chinese made vehicles.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
