You can buy all the insurance they offer but try to collect and they will beat your down asking for receipts that did not matter before and denying the clam saying you can appeal it to a never ending appeals process until you give up.
If it perishable and you pay for 3 day delivery and it takes a week to get there they just say it was perishable. DA I had them hold a package of yote tails years back they said it was drug maybe, they were wrong they never covered the $20 for the tails or even the priority shipping charges what a racket.

I talked to the person receiving the box and they did receive it. That's all I cared about. It did cost $25 to send a little bird house but it went to a gal ending up on the bad end of a cancer ordeal.

Part of that info they want is to be able to identify who sent the drugs/bomb/toxic crap thru the mails.

They always ask if I want insurance and if there is anything perishable, hazardous or liquid. When I send frozen critters by priority mail I always write "Perishable" on all sides of the box. And if they ask me what it is I tell them frozen meat. I cut 1' blue foam insulation board to line the boxes and pack things tight with frozen gel packs. Never had anything go bad in transit so far --- knock on wood.

Half the questions they ask yu are just an attempt to up-sell you. They probably either get a commission on those sales or are afraid of getting fired if they don't ask you. Commission? That's a good one. Might check on the union contract for "commission" lol

I mailed a frozen black coyote this past winter 3 day Priority mail on Monday. The lady asked if it was perishable. I thought not if they do what they are supposed to. She said it should get there on Friday. I wasn't sure how that was three days, but no worries it was cold outside and the coyote was frozen. It sat in Montgomery for ten days and arrived in Kentucky four days later. Yep you pay for a service and when you don’t get that service it’s just tough luck then, file a claim and it’s a big run around they will spend $100 to keep from paying out $50. You should have sent it Express. Priority mail is not guaranteed 3 days. Should probably read the fine print

They don’t pay if you claim perishable either.
