Hi all...

If anyone can help ID this tree, I'd appreciate it. It is about 6 feet tall and was here when we moved. Not a fig, but interesting leaves.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Pete... I believe it may be a gingko biloba.

Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

Yup, ginko. A prehistoric species going way back in the fossil record to at least the cretaceaous.

Hopefully it's a male ginkgo. The female ginko trees get terrible smelling berries that make your shoes stink, if you step on one. My college had lots of female ginko trees. We called the ginko fruit barf berries and dog _____ berries.

Thanks for the info.

I think it'll get replaced with something more useful.
