Looks great.

Wolfie has been quiet. He must've passed out with a full belly.

Trim off the stem ends, slice into half inch rounds. Dredge in plain cornmeal seasoned with salt, pepper, maybe some cayenne if you like a little tingle.

Heat some oil in a skillet, just enough to cover the bottom. Fry the okra in a single layer until browned and crisp.

Tip, add some diced green tomatoes before dredging.

Can’t find okra up here…just like you probably Nevah had Fiddleheads ….

Nope on fiddleheads. Fern fronds just as they uncurl, right? We got ferns but I wouldn't know which ones but I'm game and will try anything once.

How is that sausage Wolfdog? Can't get deer sausage here unless you shot it and have it made. I'm kind of stuck on conecuh sausage.

Naw....that's when I first threw the veggies in. They cook down to thicken things up.

Yours looks great. Hope you get to eat on it for a few days.

Good post. Cajun ninja knows his way around a kitchen and makes some delicious meals. Can’t go wrong with his recipes.

I love gumbo and I love tomatoes, but I don’t put tomatoes in my gumbo. Ever.

I do put okra every chance I get. A few frog legs go well in gumbo as well

Fiddlehead …is a fern…before it blooms. It’s a short season in the spring…but ohhh so good

A butter roux is more suited to a creole etoufee or shrimp creole.
