Like him or not, does not matter. The facts are what they are, many top line trapper can trace their PEDIGREE to OGORMAN, He also wrote Hoof BEATS OF A WOLFER; which is to many of the G men I have dealt with; is a bench mark book in coyote trapping, coyote history and coyote habits. As a paper collector handling volumes of paper on trapping and minor dealer I have many want lists for OGorman material. As a minor TRAPPING HISTORIAN, I can prove he has been plagurized by copyright date and time stamp of article and books and trapper that then repackaged what he said and put it in the next issue of THE TRAPPER. Thats the reason he quit writting in the fur boom years. He is respected by some of the best trappers out there. He has not really changed his base product which means its still selling and works. People will snipe at him but the bottom line is, he is at the top of the heap even in marketing. I know a retired US F&W supervisor that says he the best xxx coyote killer walking. I also trapped with one of his first students who knew Bill Nelson, and he was quite addamit that OG was top shelf.

OG is like original block chain technology and he is pedigreed thru Nelson, Griggs, and he has studied Mast Ehn and Lennon in depth. If you spent the money and searched out these methods you would see OG was a purest in following their methods and built on them as the coyote evolved.

I have thousands of dollars wrapped up in original paper, i have spent time with Tom Parr reviewing all of John Ehns methods which there are multiple editions. (TOM ALSO HAS ALL THE LETTERS BETWEEN OG and BILL NELSON) I own all of Lennon material including the denning book, most of Griggs, seen and read all of Masts and Frank Terry, Have alot of Bud Darymple material, all of Lynchs, Obertos, Hugh Walker, Berieman and more. When you start connecting the dots you find they lead to Craig OGorman for western and mid western methods.

I trapped 19 years in AZ/NM also so do not think I cannot catch a coyote. I trapped with Al Perry, spent time with Jake Korell, trapped with Brad Rendell and took lesson from John Magel.

So these facts, not hype. Trappers are such a jealous lot. 95% hype, you are uniformed.

I have about 25-30 or more of this type of setup that were part of my dad’s trapping collection when he passed. I figured they were some type of drowning setup but them being so short confused me. Now maybe i know the origin to the idea. Not sure where he got them but he had a buddy who welded stuff up for him every now and then. Thanks for the info.

I have one of those slider system also. Looks just like Bobs. Came from an O'G student.

I came up with something similar for dry culverts in the river bottoms . I made about fifty and set them on my road line first night wasnt bad alot of oppossums of with my coons but they added quite a few coons from culvert I hadn't set in previous years . I thought I had hit a home run . Then the skunks ran , nine one night and eleven the next . At the time I followed the letter of the law and did not discharge firearms in the road right of way . It made for an interesting and quite comical dispatch . Now adays id just inject them or release them with a piece of plywood . I wasnt that enlightened at the time and pulled the dry sets and went back to wet sets
