Pike River OP trapper P Joined: Oct 2018 Posts: 5,570 Dunbar, Wisconsin	How did they go about forming that to your face back then? Is that a goalie mask? (you probably have 2 or 3 decades on me)

Nessmuck trapper N Joined: Nov 2011 Posts: 23,649 New Hampshire	To make the mask….I had to wear a shower cap over my head and tuck my hair in it….then cover my face in petroleum jelly….and laid down on a table . Then the guy stuck a straw in my mouth ,so I could breath. Then he began to lay strips of plaster soaked gauze all ovah my head and face….and when it was set up..I puffed out my cheeks and he lifted the mold off my face. The next step for him was to fill the mold of my face ,with plaster. Then released that…and then he had a perfect mold of my face. Then he laid strips of fiberglass cloth and resin onto the mold of my face to a desired thickness….cut out the eyes…etc. It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
