These photos were not taken this week, but are pulled out of the archives. Thought there may be some interest in grizzly pictures; they are from collaring operations, either trapping or helicopter-darting, obviously in Alaska.

Impressive pictures. Been reading a lot of early 19th century journals from trappers and traders in the Rockies. The sheer number of bears they encountered is amazing.

Great pic's Jack... Thanks for doing this!

Got some neat trail cam pic's this week (don't want to hijack your thread). I enjoy hunting this spot...

River -

This thread is intended, each week, to give all a place to show their "photos of the week". You're not hijacking the thread at all. Keep 'em coming. I like your submission this week, man!

All I had this week was more boring snake pictures, a couple of white-tailed jackrabbit photos, and more trail camera foxes and skunks from my driveway. Thus, I delved into the archives a bit.

Jack

Some breeding plumage Ruddy Ducks, the male Ruddy does what’s called a “Bubbling Display” where he beats his bill against his puffed out chest and forces the air out downward into the water making bubbles to impress the ladies.

Wow what great shots, everyone !

Jack, wonderful record photos . You look so thoughtful with that bear asleep on your lap smile

Well my shots aren't near the quality as everyone else's, but it was a nice buck on my place a few days ago, late afternoon . The lighting wasn't the best and my cam zoom doesn't do well in heavy shade or dusk. I think you'll get the idea , though.

He is just about ready to shed velvet soon. Almost.

I have seen the ruddy display but never got a picture like those. Wow. I’ve seen a couple of those bears over here too but not that close.
I don’t have any fresh pictures this week either.
My trapping and hunting partner moved to Moscow yesterday. Here’s a few pictures of our adventures from a few years back.

Cool photos pholks! That's odd the Ruddy does that to impress the girls.....any time I was near my Bride in the water and made bubbles she would call me disgusting and move upwind.

Talkeetna isn't interior technally. I assume it is north of the B&C line that separates grizzlies from coastal browns. Good bear pics tho. The ruddy shots were awesome!

Sure can't argue with you. Technically, the Talkeetna drainage is southcentral rather than interior. However, I think of bears as being "interior" if they contend with real winters and spend a significant amount of time in "hibernation". Those bruins that don't contend with real winters and often-times don't hibernate, get relegated to the "coastal brown bear" category rather than "grizzlies".

Gator-

That is some fine looking country. A few snakes from time to time?
