Sioux Falls best pitcher got them into the Finals. He is a left hander and struck out 17 when they beat NE the first time on Wed. Due to pitch counts he was out for today. I don't think he has given up a hit yet. He's tough if you get the chance, watch him pitch in the series!

Yup. Officially, LL Umpires are supposed to be on a "volunteer" basis only. If they found out you were being paid, you would not be allowed to go to Regionals or LLWS. They're finding out different now. Most other Youth Leagues pay the umps, $25 > $85 per game.

It's shameful on LL's part not to pay umps. They're making MILLIONS of dollars! The most disgusting statement in the LL Rule Book is :

"“there is no sound reason for paying umpires, or any other person whose services should be provided on a volunteer basis.”

Little League and travel tournaments are two different animals. My son does both. I find the LL more fun to watch. It can turn into a blood bath though, in the stands. LL has great games!

They may get paid. Ask 'em. I do if I do ANY games for ANY leagues.

Parents are the worst. They think that their "little Johnny" is gg2 to get to the MLB, which is VERY UNLIKELY.

Me and my brother coined the phrase "18 year-get-rich-quick-scheme-parents" back when we both did a ton of youth ball. I pretty much stick to high school these days
