Got the call last week that a beaver dam was impounding a significant amount of water in a local drainage. Caught a large male and has been no attempt to repair the dam since. We got a huge dump of rain on day 2 and it was just overflowing the top and sides. Hopefully he was the only trouble maker.

Rarely is there just one. Save a little trapping time for when that water runs off enough that the dam can be repaired effectively....another beaver will "appear". That's been my experience.

I figured that may be the case Swamp Wolf. They are going to destroy the dam and will advise me in a week or so if another appears.

What size trap is that?

Will add.... high water conditions can also force beaver to move downstream.

I've had it be just one a couple of times, but in my experience, it is rare.

Is it a Bridger three coil? I have always used Bridger 5 coils for beaver.

It is a Duke #4 4 coil which is the same size as a Bridger #3
