I can't see for sure from the picture , but is her elbow on her knee or hooked past her knee? you want the flat of the back of the arm against the front of the knee , the elbow on the knee rolls and is hard to make stable still not as stable as a bi-pod but possibly an idea why she was having difficulty with it
