My handle here is CoyoteSoldier229, but my actual name is Shane Lynn. I’ve lived and worked in NEPA for all of my 43 years. On April 21, 2007, my brother in law, Army Staff Sergeant Steven Tudor was killed in Baghdad, Iraq. Steven loved his family more than anything, leaving behind a wife, son, daughter, mother, brothers and sisters, but he also left a land he loved so much.
My wife, Kendra, and her siblings adored Steven. And she has done anything in her power to help remember him, active and former military, and every other service member that’s given the ultimate sacrifice. She truly is an amazing woman, has a heart of gold, helps anyone she can, and deals with my crap.
Two reasons I’m posting this. The first is to let anyone that reads this know, if you’re a gold star family member, or former or active military, or know someone that is and you or they need help, with anything, big or small, there are so many organizations out there that want to help, people that have been in your shoes. Don’t be afraid to reach out. You can PM me if you’d like, I’ll help you anyway I can, even if you just need someone to talk to. I’m here.
The second reason is that my wife has raised the money for a second time to bring the Remembering the Fallen monument to McDade Park in Scranton, PA.
On September 9th, the monument will be escorted from Mohegan Sun Arena parking lot in Wilkes Barre, to McDade Park in Scranton, where it will be set up by volunteers, many of which will be gold star family members, former military, first responders, and others. The monument will open at 4am on the 10th and be open to the public until the 15th at 9am. The opening ceremony will be on September 11th at 10am. It is free to the public to attend. If you would like to be involved with the escort, I’ll attach a Facebook link below, along a Facebook link for the monument event and the website for the actual monument.
I apologize for the long post, but I wanted to spread the word in the hopes even more come see the monument, and do all We the People can to support and honor our active and former military, and never forget our fallen. God Bless
