Close, I figure about 161. I load a 125 grain bullet so can cram a bit more powder in there (43.5 grains per round is my recipe).

That had to be one expensive pound of powder but it is what it is.
Incidentally, I was in the Runnings store in Brookings today, that store is lame compared to many other locations. I was in the one in Marshall yesterday, they had an assortment of powder, a better assortment of ammo, and bullets. I picked up three boxes of Berger bullets there, three bucks a box cheaper than Brookings.

Yeah, Steven49, it was an experiment. I don't think I would repeat it. I will just have look harder in the future, if we have "normal" one...

I head to Nebraska every 3 months and I have had several opportunities to get that powder and many others. I'm sure a trip to I-29 would be a lot less than hazmat fee.

I am sure glad that before it got weird I invested in precious metals like steel, lead, and brass

I am sure glad that before it got weird I invested in precious metals like steel, lead, and brass Powder and primers. Yes me to. But the only reason I have any left is because I went from shooting to not shooting much at all. So I still have 60lb of powder thousands of bullets and primers. That said I'm low on the bullets I do shoot the most and stuff for my new to me calibers. I also bought 200 cci 500 small pistol primers 2 days ago. Becuse they were there and what I use. I was shopping for a mag for my youngest boys cz 455 since he lost it squirrel hunting. 4 stores and 130 miles later I had one. 5 shot steel one for $42. It was cheaper than ordering it by $2 +no shipping cost. It had been on the shelf so long the thick plastic packaging had turned yellow.

I was also looking at the used inventory and any youth model shotguns and rifles they had in stock or would have called instead of drive. That was very limited. It was hard for me to pass on that blue handled cz scout 2 but that's not what I was there for and I don't have a stash of 9mm.
