Color looks about right I've grown them and you can usually tell by comparing to the green ones. Either way that variety is smokin' hot to say the least. Makes a good jelly but not the most appealing color. My ghost peppers are just ripening up here. Also excellent if put in a dehydrator and then ground up in a coffee/herb grinder. I like a little shaked on my pizza Not for everyone peppers that hot. Of the chocolate varieties I've grown over the years I prefer the chocolate habanero Take care to wear nitrile gloves when processing. No face touching, and watch out going to the bathroom until your hands have been scrubbed well. Yes, I know by experience lol

Pick one and eat it so you can tell if they are ready!

Pick one and eat it so you can tell if they are ready! Not me, I'm just the grower. Grew a few for a feller I work with. I'll let him taste test.

Just ain't right! Why someone would intentionally eat something that bites them back (both coming and going) is beyond me! If food hurts it's not meant to be ingested. In this regard, I will forever and proudly be a culinary sissy.
