ok gang......I don't own a welder............but is it possible ,,,to make your own double jaw 1.5 coils without welding? ive got tons of 1.5 coils........I just don't want to have to break down to buy a few more dozen WITH the double jaw .............I just have some situations were blind sets are gonna shine............and would feel more comfortable using the double jaws.

Why not? Only limited by your imagination. A drill and some bolts along with some flat bar and a hack saw.

you could rivet them
I know most weld a rod lamination , but a flat stock clamped , drilled and riveted could work not pop rivets , crush rivets

That will work. Then you may be able to spread that out a bit by driving chisel between the two pieces of metal. Or you could place a spacer between the two ends to get more space between the jaws. But then you would have to have a real rivet. But a 6 or 8 penny nail will work as a rivet.
