Beavering. Snaring through the ice. Sometimes more than 5 feet of ice. With an ice spud, makes for strong shoulders.

Nice !! Spring beavering is pleasant when the sun has a little strength. Must be a warm day with no hat or engine cover.

Sping beavering here...March, t-shirts and 330s, fun stuff. This was in late 90s I think.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Duck season starts tomorrow here, early season is usually full of Teal and Gadwall. Fun times to get the kids out as there is usually plenty of opportunities.

Great photos ! So clear , Tray. Jonathan would be proud.

Jack, your lodge with the treeline reminded me of an illustration Bob Noonan had me do for the cover of Trapper's Post long ago...beaver trapping in the 1950's....the dusky blues and greys in the northern sky. This trapper happened to also catch a cat at the bait tree he set nearby .

Love that plane , too.

This is a photo i took when doing a marten ski line deep in the Bob. Only thing i could suspect is a interesting freeze thaw pattern from a rabbit hopping across the lake. Or aliens. Regardless, i always think of the most quiet country only touched by a few with human powered snow equipment. I long for those days again….

That boat looks a lot like my 14' StarCraft.

The weather has cooled off a bit and it's time to get out in the woods for the first time since the end of last trapping season.

D.T. very interesting picture.
Great photos everyone. Lots of talent on display.

D.T., I love when the snow has that effect on tracks. The Bob is indeed it's own unique place.

Artrapper 16, That is my illustration...not painted. Done with German made Derwent coloured pencils and Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, also German made.

Awesome illustrations, you are very talented. Most people can’t even read my name when I try writing nicely, and my drawing is even worse.

Many thanks, Tray...but I'll tell you...any artist wouldn't have a leg to stand on if it weren't for the amazing photos to have as references , such as your quality, Jonathan's , Jack's , and many others . Often trappers will send me their shots of their wuffs, fox, coyotes, badgers, coon, cats, etc. for me to have as references . That's where it all starts, with good clear eyes as yourself.

My handwriting isn't that good at all either ....the most amazing handwriting I've ever seen is Patrice's !

I'm just posting my stuff to try and go along with Jack's fun weekly themes !
