Same here ! I covet that hardwood !!

Gulo: Remember Alex H that lived on the river road ? He always had several cords of drift cut and stacked on the bank. One day I asked him why he didn't put it in his woodshed. He said it was like having......"money ON the bank " laugh

Gulo, I have seen some of those high elevation birds but I don’t know if it’s common. The bird I got this year was at around 7500 feet. I have a spot I like to go on the mid September opener sometimes that is around 6700 feet. It usually has plenty of sage hens around then. I often go back to the exact same area and hunt sharptails the first of October and rarely see sage grouse there at that time. So they move out during those couple of weeks between the sage grouse opener and the sharpie opener. Interesting migrations on those guys.

Ken,

That's a relatively familiar scene. With the ice floes, I'm thinking I will be able to park the airplane there in a couple weeks.

I kinda feel rich when I've got a full woodshed and chest freezer in the fall.

Gary -

Cool old building. Stone? Was it perhaps an old grange hall?

In these times, I'm with you. Only things I'll add to be truly rich is an outhouse with another couple of years of freeboard.

It won't be long if this rate keeps up. I'd like nothing better than to see it parked there........often !

Yes....limestone. I knew the gal that grew up there. She is long deceased now. That house is square enough to be restored. Rock is sturdy!
