Got given some old body grips and the Joe’s seem loose to me when the springs are open. Can I beat on the rivets with a hammer to tighten them up? Or are they just too far gone?

You could try replacing rivets with a bolt and nut that fits. Try one of the traps and experiment with it. I’ve done it before and it works.

Thanks. That’s more work than I was hoping to put into them but might be the trick.

Anybody else got anything on that?

If you are experimenting try using a hammer on one of them. Be careful not to over do it though. I have done that with the smaller traps but have also used bolts also.
