it's not one person or one small group it is every one who sees a box on the shelf at a reasonable price but let hem believe what they want
I do think I saw that guy at a gun show ,but he was selling primers at 175 a brick and 20 rounds of bulk 9mm fmj in a sandwich bag for 18 dollars

After stopping for a year I’m back to buying a box or 3 every time I go to town. Granted that’s only once a month but it sure makes me feel better. Prices aren’t as scary as they were a few months back. Ordered 1000 rounds of 9mm hollow point for $27 a box wasn’t that long ago they were over 40.

I bought 300 rounds of 10mm today.
Cheapest I found was $28 per 50. With shipping it was just under $200.
Didn't think that was too bad. Some places were $10 more a box. Have to shop around.
WISH I HAD MORE TIME TO TRAP!

I sure hope the next good sign is primers back under 50 dollars a brick I miss 19.99 a K this 69.99 a K hurts but not as bad as not shooting
at this point I would get excited for 50 a K when 4 years ago I would have waited to find them for 32 or less

Saturday I was in the Scheels in Sioux Falls, it shocked me how much ammo they had with no limits. Prices weren't great but not terrible either.
More 223/556 than a guy could shake a stick at, unlimited 22lr, pretty much every caliber of pistol, many different rifle calibers 243, 6mm, 7mm, 308, 30-06, 6.5, 25-06 and the list goes on. No 30-30. Variety in calibers was limited, take it or leave it but at least they had some. 209 was the only primer, limited powder.
I walked out with 4 boxes of Hornady 223 vmax

Ammo manufacturers are lying to us. Where is all of the 30-06, and 308 ammo going ? These 2 calibers used to be the most abundant ammo on store shelves. I do not think ammo manufactures are lying to us. I think the times are a changing, 30-06 and 308 used to be everywhere because they were the most popular, they are not anymore. Ammo companies are in business for one thing, to make money. They will make what sells fastest and the most of, which these days is pistol ammo, 223 and 6.5 somethings. I actually see quite a bit of 308 and 30-06 ammo on the shelves around here.

I can find anything I want ammo or reloading wise. Its paying for it that prevents me buying it. saw 45acp ball ammo the other day in a baggie. 90 bucks for a hundred rounds. it is still there so far as i know

The other day I bought a 325 round box of Federal .22 from Walmart for $18. Yesterday they had .22 ammo, but a 300 round box of Winchester was $40! They also had 100 round slider boxes of Federal for $8. We didn't need either enough to pay those prices.

Anyone who shoots should learn to reload and buy components by the thousands for primers and multiple 8 pound jugs of powder when prices are lower. Buy your brass whenever you can find it, if you don’t shoot heavy loads it lasts a lot longer. Learn to cast your bullets and you can be set for a long, long time. I remember when these same problems happened with Clinton and later Gore and Obama, this is nothing new. It wasn’t this bad but still you couldn’t get everything you wanted especially primers. Learn to be an ant instead of a grasshopper.

This is spot on. Look at those old Taliban vets. Tough and skinny as a rail. If you cant walk 15-20 miles with your essentials your basically of no use if a civil war happened. I can defend my home. I"m not interested in fighting other people's battles.
