Hey y'all!
Very green in the ways of trapping. Looking for advice/experience on the easiest/quickest way to prep my water traps. I'm only going for aquatic animals so I was leaning towards degreasing the traps and spray painting dark brown. I'd wax my footholds, of course, after painting. Any advice is appreciated!

Speed Dip and use Coleman fuel, not gasoline to thin out the Speed Dip. Gasoline takes too long to dry.

I use DakotaLine dip or FormulaOne Dip for my conis, all footholds get dyed and waxed, the wax lubricates the trap and makes it faster IMO

I would spray paint or even dipping them in some type of trap dip would be fine for the water. I too am preparing some water traps (conibears). The only difference is I used 'em last year but didn't do any prep to 'em prior to using them. That got rid of the oil & they turned rusty brown. I'm debating about painting or dipping them, but they have that sort of powdery rust residue on 'em (if I pick 1 up, my hand has sort of a powdery rust look). I assume I should remove that powdery feel before coating the traps, so the coating sticks, but how best should a person go about removing that substance? Thanks
