Get some bear boxes, I use em them still tear off my antennas though. But cheaper to get a antenna then a new cam.

Not good Pos… I lost another Reconyx this year. Spendy spendy. I was extremely careful to handle it scent free but I guess some bears just hate the paparazzi.

Osky That's how I figure it. Most of these cameras hang for days and go through a rainstorm or two before the bears find them. I don't know how they find them or why they insist on snapping them off the trees. I keep losing a lot of good Intel on the local deer herd because of them.

Ooof! I lost 1 camera 3 years in a row to bears.
This year I put the camera about 9 feet up in the tree at the bear bait and didn’t have one bear even look at it.
My trail cams for deer also go up in the tree’s about 6 feet pointing down. Bears don’t touch them either.
So far, so good!

BTW, what is that T-bar looking thing in the picture of your bear destroyed cameras? Looks like it could be some kind of a camera tree mount.
Dave That's what it is, Dave. It has an articulating head on it you can spin any way you want to get the angle you want. You can usually pick them up at TS or Walmart. I guess I'm going to have to start climbing trees.

I started putting mine up about 10' in trees up 18" trees and the bears still mess with them. Only thing I found that helps is 10' up a small tree 6in diameter, been using a 6' step ladder to change out batteries. Guess they can't climb the small trees too well....
