Strange how often it works out just that way. smile

I think if they don't throw the game today, the Braves may actually do it in 4 or 5 games. If its bad tonight it'll be 6-7 unless I miss my guess.

Lots of people over the years claim the World Series is fixed. I recall reading years ago the players share for the World Series is for the first 4 games only. I read where the World Series has only gone the full 7 games 40 times going back to 1909.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

Morton's broken leg takes a really good starter out of game 5 for the Braves. He was really effective against the Brewers and Dodgers. Still feel the Braves have the edge. The Braves have one of the highest strikeout rates in the majors and the Astros do not. So far the Braves batters are getting pitches they can hit and drive. They stranded a lot of runners on base last night but still drove in 6 runs. The Braves middle relief pitchers seem to be more effective right now. Baseball is a tough game, lots of athletes that play other sports could not hit well enough to play at the MLB level. Hitting a 2.75 inch ball with a 2.75 inch stick on the big end that can come at over 100 mph or break 2 feet in 60 feet is not something one learns in a summer camp.

They got a pitchers umpire tonight. Anything close is a strike it seems.

Still the bottom of the 2nd, but now it is 5-1 Houston.

Shoe is on the other foot tonight. Braves gonna have to play catch up. Fried looking real bad that inning. 5-1 Astros top of 3.

Braves need to pull a rabbit out of the hat. That one bad inning is haunting them now. Looks like it'll be tied at one game apiece.

I'm saying Braves in 6.

Fried has not pitched well in the playoffs. The Dodgers scored 11 runs the game he started. He did OK against the Brewers, but the Brewers were almost at the bottom for hitting and hitting for average this season. With Morton gone the rest need to really take up the slack.

Fried is a great pitcher, but a very hittable pitcher. He throws strikes, but he throws too many of them. Going forward he is going to have to learn how to use his pitches to get guys to swing when it's NOT a strike. Losing Morton is a tremendous loss, gotta give the guy credit for sitting down three guys in a row while pitching with a broken leg though...

Looking forward to seeing what Ian Anderson does Friday. The Braves have got to win 2 of the 3 home games to go the length of the series. I still say Braves in 7

Gotta live up to the nickname...
