I primarily use montana #3 and montgomery square jaws. Started
Using some k9 extremes last year but picked up some new duke #4
Today and i like them so far. Have never used many dukes but am looking
Forward to setting them. I put chain and drags on them. Will weld the j hooks
I couldnt get the pan tension to tight though. I like 4 or so pounds.
Seemes the nut was cranked as tight as could be. I will run with wire screen
And see how they do. Anyone like and use them ?

I use them for beaver all the time. Work great!

Drill out that pan and the posts and put a different bolt/nut/washer on. Cleans up that pan creep and uou can add tension.

I have a dozen of them. The first year I got them I dyed and waxed them. They were real strong. I didn't set them that year. I set a few the next year. The springs seemed to be about half what they were the year before. The springs were about as strong as a 2 coild #2.

Duke 4s are good traps. I also switch out the pan bolt washer and nut. I replace with stainless. When doing so i file any burs off the pan shank that are usually present and then reassemble. Have no problem getting probably 6 lbs tension if desired.
