Not to be that guy!!! But, use the choke tube that your shotgun best patterns with using buckshot would be my suggestion.
Same goes for #3, #4 and F

Carlsons BSC buck shot choke at 50 yards I wouldn't have all 9 but I would have at least a few within a few inches of point of aim you can look up videos
it definitely matters the buck you use I found Fiocchi was what my gun preferred , Winchester and Rem weren't bad but the weren't as good either

I did a lot of goose hunting years ago and used a shotgun with a full choke barrel. I shot #4 buck and that worked great. Geez, I miss those days. #4 buck would just rip the wings off those high flying honkers.
I have nothing clever to put here.

When I was a kid I shot geese and coyotes both with my old single shot break over hammer gun made by h and r. I honestly had never heard of patterning a gun . That old gun has a full choke and it worked fine. To this day I havnt patterned it just know that #4 buck always worked for me in it. Have not used 4 buck in a while. Once in a while I call with snow on the ground and a moon. still grab the H and R. I guess cause stuff rolls up when I touch it off. Other chokes may be better I honestly cant say but that old 12 gauge shoots it good. 2 3/4 or 3 inch. Whatever brand size was in the gas station when i needed more.

my carlsons Turkey said it was safe for lead buck , it also held a nice pattern
most anything will do at 25 yards it is when your trying to stretch past 30-35 you have to try what you have and see
I like the extended chokes that go about an inch or so out the end of the barrel it gives more time to make the transition which seems to work for me.
try what you have with what you can get for buck if you get better and better as you go to mod and full , trying a turkey if you have one and yours is safe for lead buck might deliver or it might be too much

If I could find any 4 buck I sure wouldn’t waste much patterning with it. I’m planning on some hunting in December and probably only have 25 -30 rounds. Incidentally, I have the Carlson coyote choke and liked how it performed back when I wasn’t in a 4 buck hoard mode.

If I can cut down on unnecessary shooting, Im all for it. However, Im still gonna need to shoot a few so that I know what the capabilities are. Thanks for the info on the Carlson choke

I have an old Undertaker choke that is great for #4s and smaller. For anything bigger than that, the factory modified or even IC patterns best for me.
