In Wild Mammals of North America by Feldhamer, et al., BTJR listed as 2.3-2.6 kg (5-5.7 lbs). WTJR somewhat larger. Arctic Hare 3.9-4.8 kg (8.5 to 10.5 lbs) and Alaska Hare (aka Tundra Hare) about the same as Arctic Hares, but listed max weight as 7.2 kg = almost 16 pounds.

The first time I saw one of those it was augh.
Those Artic hares are equal to a jack rabbit and snowshoe combined weight.

Because of the spent nitrogen around all those early warning sights Radar sites etc. the plants do flourish and that bring in the plant eaters.
You can use google earth and in IR can see all the old whaling stations in the artic region.

Great way to blow a few hours in the desert! Excellent for bait, I use every part of them.
