trapper124 Trapper Mark, M.D Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 1,347 MO bootheel	I’ve never used a havalon but started skinning with a scalpel several years before I started seeing the havalon for sale. I use a fat handle scalpel with #60 autopsy blades. When I get to the head I switch to a serrated knife or another sturdy blade. Usually get 2 coyotes per blade. If you just buy scalpel blades though it’s a lot cheaper than what they sell for the havalon.
