We had the traditional fried turkey for Thanksgiving yesterday and todays cleanup consisted of the cleaning of the fryer. I normally reuse the oil a time or two except when I get to the bottom and have pieces of stuff floating around. I drained these last remaining remnants into an old peanut butter jar and sealed it up. I was thinking about using this for a raccoon call it have this coming week. I never tried it and would like to know if the knowledge base has an opinion.

I have used oil from fish fries for years.

It might be worth a try, but I'm not sure it will have a strong enough odor if you aren't right on location.

It would be dandy to use for bear bait from what I have heard...

"Used" peanut oil is excellent. Johnny Thorpe used it often in mixing different lures and scents. It won't dissipate as soon as other oils. :-)

PS, I've used it for scent mixing several times with success.

If it has s smell a coon will check it out. They aint picky about the smell either.

I like to use the burnt sludge from the bottom of my VFW's fish fry's in DP's. Works great, nice and stanky!
