Tracking a potentially wounded deer isn't fun or easy . . . it's called fortitude and perseverance day or night to a conclusion of clean miss or kill. Sorry if that offends anyone. I'm old school. Not quite what im saying. Just saying you have to have the commitment before you head out that evening to hunt to spending a long night in the woods to beat the coyotes to the deer. And you have to be good at tracking, especially at night or youll risk destroying the trail, or getting yourself lost. Absolutely agree with you Sniper! I think we're both of the same mind set. :-)

Yea I'm definitely going to have to thin the coyotes out, we never saw any until the past two years and hardly ever get pics of them compared to Tennessee. So I wasn't very concerned about it, boy was I wrong. Do you guys think they eat that much or was they carrying it back to their den? There was at least 100 # missing Some coyotes will eat till full, move off a ways, regurgitate, then come back for more. It really only takes a couple coyotes to eat that much meat when they go into gorge mode.

Not much denning this time of year. The young of the year are dispersing though so its every dog for himself tryin to find a spot he don't get his butt kicked. they're used to eating deer around here as there is a lot of roadkill. We dont' see many skinny yotes.
