Kids parents charged yet baldwin is most likely going to never be charged....this type of disparity within the legal system (and many more examples) needs to be changed by any means possible.

Glad the parents are also being charged. Think the school bears some responsibility for returning the kid to the classroom. Where was the counseling for the shooter???

This is a result of societal degradation which is the direct result of the lack of discipline, all definitions of disipline.

Why are the parents being charged? Do we have an anti-gun prosecutor here, or is there more to the story?

Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

If they have their way, we'll register our guns, agree to safe storage audits, notification of firearms transfers, permits to transport...

They'll milk this for all it's worth.

The parents should be convicted.
His dad just bought the gun. His parents were both in the school that day to address a drawing a teacher had found, depicting a gun and a bleeding victim and good mom texted him “don’t do it.”
I suppose that’s freedom too.

As I said there could have been more to the story, and what you just posted is more than I'd heard. Unless the D.A. is an anti-gun nut, I imagine there is a reason the parents were charged.

I'm not sure why the big deal over the fact the gun was just bought. Unless it was an illegal buy, what difference does it make when the gun was bought? Sounds like it is implied that the gun was bought for this shooting.

But in the past ten years you guys have had ten times the amount of school shootings than the rest of the world combined. To think the entire world isn’t aware is ignorant at best. Thoughts and prayers ain’t working guys, it’s time to seriously start thinking about what actually might.

I think bringing back public executions would be wonderful deterrent. And starting to prosecute crime again would be a great start. ............. Could'nt resist.

Apparently the school's anti-bullying policy didn't work.

You forgot the part where mom's text was 15 mins after news of the shooting got out. And when news broke the parents called in that it could be their son and that the guns was missing from the nightstand.

I won’t disagree much on that.

I didn’t forget it, I just didn’t add it. Just like i didn’t add how the mom had posted about his new Christmas present, the gun. I also didn’t add how the parents refused to have him sent home for the day even after it was recommended by school officials based on the findings of the teacher and councillors. They’re negligent, plain and simple.

lol @ Boco, what was the punishment?

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I’ve never heard of a school recommending to the parents a kid be removed from school. Parents don’t get to choose wether the kid stays or not. If the kid is thought to be a threat he’s gone. Something not right here.
