Is Iowa an archery only State?

No, meaning we can use straight wall rifle but not high priority for 30/30, 30.06, 270 etc. That stuff sits on shelves in the smaller, rural areas. I bought 5 boxes of .308 for $18 a box a month ago at Walmart. Last week when I was at Cabela's in PDC , Wisconsin they had tons of 223, 556, 300 mag up a little unless you wanted the primo exotic loads. No bird shot or steel shot.

Licking what wounds ? Entire post was stating how politicians and news media report unreal numbers compared to real life prices. 6.8 percent inflation is a joke when everything is up 20, 30, 60 percent. So I guess 50 bucks a box fir 30.06 is normal? Not inflated at all? Man I’m glad ole bucks and bullshut set me straight I’ll sleep so good tonight ! Then I guess the 32 dollar box is a bargain !!! But I got some 270 in my safe from couple years ago that are marked 16.99 But they were priced wrong
Hey buck I’m glad you still follow my post so intently Hard to be your hero every day but I’ll keep trying !!!

I don't care where you live , ammo prices are way out of control .
Stopped at a shooting range , and they charged normal prices , as they said the manufacturer didn't raise the price , the stores and middle man did .
Looks like it no longer matters as people are paying it .
Don't buy , and if everyone does so , watch what happens .
Supply and demand .
No demand and the prices drop ..
Haven't bought ammo in a couple years , but through a friend bought 5000 rounds of Winchester 22 long rifle's for $200 .
He sold them at his cost from a gun show years earlier .
Could make money off them , but they go to family at my cost .
I can't take them with me .
My kids grand children , and great grand children will have them .

Bought some CCI 22 mini mags at Walmart on 6/30/21 for $7.82 per 100 plastic box. They got some in yesterday and the price is now $10.87 for same box !

$35 for 30-30? They are actually closer to $50 IF you can find them.

I have nothing clever to put here.

All the left-leaning stations around here don't even mention inflation.

Heard old Joe this morning on NewsMax saying that Build Back Better won't cost the taxpayers a dime. The corporations will all be paying for it.

Corporations aren't in business to lose money. They will pass the increase onto the consumer. So yes Joe, the taxpayers will be funding your stupid plan.

the CPI consumer price index is not a good indication of actual inflation but it is the indicator used and intentionally so , many of the items on the list won't change much they are based on daily items that haven't changed much in years quite intentionally

Obviously the 6.8% inflation rate is based on more than just ammo prices, but it has been interesting watching the left trying to spin this as inflation is good for the economy.

if you stop and only look at Durable goods as they call them you will see more like 20% or 30%

one example is a particular type of steel used in the manufacturing of AG equipment where my wife works was $0.20 a foot and now it is $0.80 a foot when something quadruples in price it the end product has to cost more. Thus she is busy in the parts distribution side of the business because when new machine prices go up , parts get bought to get more years out of the old ones

however if you put enough items like a chicken pot pie , a gallon of milk , a 5 pound bag of flour , a loaf of bread in that stay very close to the same you can cheat the CPI

Cheat the CPI and salaries that adjust to CPI don't go up.

if your economic model is a house of cards buying and selling debt and calling owned debt an asset , well get ready to relive 2006-2012 again.

Wish you were closer to PDC WI. I just came back from Cabelas and they've got Win 30-30 150 grain yellow box for $28.00 and gray box 170 grain for $25.00. They've probably got 30 boxes of the yellow box ammo.
