One of my best friends has a Tesla and he really likes that car. He's retired from the Airforce, farms, hunts, is a falconer, is a blacksmith, lumberjack and is a bit of a gun nut. He can fix about any old piece of farm machinery or chainsaw. I was really surprised when he bought the Tesla. He put up a huge section of solar panels. He wants to get an electric truck too.
I've driven his Tesla a fair number of times, mostly from one hayfield to another. It's got a surprising amount of pep and handles well. It's to quiet. I suspect he will get a deer with it sooner or later.

Some day driving a vehicle will be only for the elite.
No the servants, trash collector, sewer operators, and grounds keeper for them will need a way to leave their property before biff, Buffy, Reginald, and jo jo arrived for wine and cheese!

They say that the acceleration of those Tesla things is pretty good. But assisted by those 60 pounds of dynamite its phenomenal. Have to admit that not all of it accelerated in the same direction but it just blew past the 60 mph mark in the blink on an eye. That 60 pound charge should come as standard from the factory.

watch electified garage some time it is a you tube channel where a guy who worked for tesla for a bit opened his own shop
one of them a cooling line broke , the fix took about 40 dollars in tools (if you don't buy them off the tool truck) and 5 dollars in parts and maybe an hour or two taking his time , it saved the customer 16K because teslas answer is replace the battery
you might want to skip ahead to about 6 minutes where they actually get into the issue and the why and the car is there.
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Not what I need for a primary vehicle, but I acknowledge they will soon be here, the infrastructure will be here, and there is already a battery that charges to 80% in 15 minutes.
Look at where car manufacturers are heading with R&D.

Saw come calculations from some lay engineers.....what suggested that to flip the fleet to electric would require entire power grid to be rebuilt......and 10X the number of nuclear plants we have now to generate it all.
Would be curious to ask the car companies what they see the rest of us can't.

Plus the fact homeowners will have to install another 200 amp electrical entrance, your current 200 amp entrance will not be enough to power your home and a charging station, you will need 400 amps.

Saw on the internet where they came up with a new battery, they call the forever battery. That is still just half of the equation, they are gonnahalf to build many more power plants, and not be picky about which is clean and which is green, if they are ever gonna pull it off! The bunch in charge now is too stupid to allow that, their answer is to eliminate most cars and public transportation! I can really see me waiting for a train orbus? out here
YOU CAN IGNORE REALITY, BUT YOU CANNOT IGNORE THE CONSEQUENCES OF IGNORING REALITY.
A few guys that work in the mines here have tesla cars. My sons buddy has had his for quite a few years now.He went on a couple week vacation to the west coast and back with it last summer. He loves it-never had any issues with it.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Madison fought over where the high tension lines would go they tried every which way around Madison no one who had just moved out of Madison wanted them through thier backyard they started this in 1996 by about 2010 they finally did what I thought they shoul d do , put those lines right down the belt line , after all that was where the concentration of it would be used.
every time a wind farm is going in there is Opposition
well if you want electric cars you need to also embrace the idea that we will need 364x as many wind mills if you were to power them on wind
and about 300X the transmittion lines or a power plant in nearly every city
the electic car is just an external combustion engine with a hundred miles of loss from the engine to the transmission
CNG makes so much more sense 5 miniute refuels and a fule that can be burned inside a building engines that would go 10K on a oil change adn last 3-400K easily build that on a light weight tube frame and have greater safety true it may not set any acceleration records. half the country already has the gas infrastructure that sets idle near half the year , the half the year transportation is up.
there is a reason NY is prohibiting any new gas meters being installed , they need to regulate CNG out of possibility if electric can survive when they start making gas illegal.
