This morning I was sitting with an uncle and we saw a bee drinking water. I told him about the bee sting treatment thread which got me thinking.... What are some other natural remedies or plants you use for various stuff.

There are substances in hundreds of plants that can remedy scores of ailments. Way too many to list.

Garlic helps fight the common cold. It also helps with social distancing. Eastern Europeans really like garlic.

Yup alone is a great moisturizer and for sunburns. Some people drink the juice.
Boco that's why I asked what "you use".
Lots of people in the Mediterranean area drink a tablespoon or 2 of olive oil daily. I use cedar tea-as a tonic a couple times a week-it is an immune system booster.

The resin from the bark blisters on balsam and porsilds white spruce is a powerful antiseptic Used on cuts and burns in the bush to prevent infection and promote healing. It can be collected easily anytime and kept in small glass vials at camp.

The resin from the bark blisters on balsam and porsilds white spruce is a powerful antiseptic Used on cuts and burns in the bush to prevent infection and promote healing. It can be collected easily anytime and kept in small glass vials at camp. That's basically what propolis is. Bees gather tree and plant resins to mix with beeswax to seal and stabilize the interior of the natural tree cavity they would normally call home. As such it has antimicrobial properties to prevent further wood decay. Experiments have shown that bees will collect different resins based upon pathogen. So bees are capable of self medication. And not just protecting the cavity either. Other studies have shown colonies with a fully developed propolis envelope within the cavity have better survival rates when exposed to bacterial bee pathogens like the foul broods than colonies without a propolis envelope.
