Yea buy backs does that for companies .Government hands out money to companies in subsidies. When a certain stock takes a dive the company buys back its shares and pushes the price back up. That's how the rebounds are happening and the stock market is high even tho the nation is suffering in all aspects. Makes Joe look good. Just google how much was spent in co buy backs in 2021. THEN ask your self where that money came from since manufacturing and distribution are at a ALL time low except during the total shut down. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/s...record-for-2021-analysts-say-11639752750I did it for you 848 BILLION with a B... Companies buying their OWN stock. Ford took the EV money and pulled themselves out of the crapper in early nov and again in dec

So where did you read the government was giving money to companies to buy back there stock?? Moneys given to them for COVID relief wasn't ear marked for any purpose OTHER than letting companies survive. TONS of then rat holed it and waited. HOW do you think they reported record profit reports when nothing was on the shelves to sale? I keep going back to ford because they posted record profits but have ZERO cars for sale on their lots. EV money was north of 800 million and the first one hasn't been made. Simple banking , you deposit 800 million don't write a check and your filthy rich until you spend it. OK Stock drops makes share holders nervous , just buy a lot of stock back at the plunge price. BOOM stock goes back up and the company owns it. Makebelive circle of life called the stock market in todays world STATES have billions of dollars In their budgets because of the hand outs. Ky has a surplus for the first time in over 30 years!! But instead of repaying the pention fund the DEM Governors have pulled out of our dem gov is starting equality programs for inner city and people of color.

You mean “advantage” programs. Nothing equal about them.

That or "I saw it on the internet " Just read the post above yours and then ice your forehead LOL. Or click on the link or just watch any of the business channels. Hey wonder where the money came from that the article reported RECORD buy backs in 2021 ? When companies shut down and no one wanted to come back to work to start back production. If they didn't have products to sell where it come from? Feds printed it and handed it out in subsidies and grants. They then used it as they wanted including buying back the stock. Just read and relax.

OK you win, I forgot Ford is just a small company that only sell/builds cars, trucks, tractors, heavy equipment, along with a million parts for those things. Only in America. It's just a mom and pop outfit. Not to mention it is a company that is a necessity for our national defense. Again I apologize to you for my ignorance of how international business works. It is now obvious to me that you are a business genius and must be wealthy because you know all about such things. Did I say I'm sorry, your correct I'm wrong, now are your little, tiny, feelings all better now? Case.

Just so you can sleep better at night I need to break some news to you. 1. The Fed doesn't pass money out to corporations 2. Ford hasn't bought back any of its own shares since the September quarter of 2019. How does it negatively affect you if a company buys its own shares ? It isn't your money or your property that is generating cash flow for these companies. The money is from earnings generated by production. Apple is the single largest company involved in share buybacks and has been for several years. They aren't using grants or subsidies to do so. There area bout 5 companies that are responsible for the greatest % of buybacks. All five are large tech companies. The balance is from other companies in the S&P 500. FordS & PIf you are really interested in this subject you should at least learn some general accounting skills. Also understand that there are two types of accounting used by public companies. Financial accounting....that you see on a company's financial statements and Tax accounting, used when filing tax return. They are REQUIRED, by law, to use both systems in their bookkeeping. There are hard and fast rules regarding these types of record keeping. They are referred to as GAAP ( Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and these are set and overseen by FASB......a group called the Financial Accounting Standards Board. It isn't the wild west out there with Scrooge McDuck trying to pick your pocket by using money that isn't yours to buy something that isn't yours either. When you own shares of a company that buys back its shares, then you have the right to complain........but I'm willing to bet you won't.

White I will sleep great . AS for ford buying back it's stock I got one even better . The owners of the company buying it thru a trust so the trans action can be down played . Crooked is as crooked does. Read the entire article. Grand daughter buying? Who is Bill Ford ? LOL He purchased 8.5 million dollars worth in December thru another trust . NAH Ford doesn't buy back it's stock !!!!! https://www.barrons.com/articles/ford-stock-alexandra-ford-english-51640211497That's not buybacks. If the stocks were bought back there would be a reduction in outstanding shares.

Also those folks are not the company owners. Ford is owned by millions of Americans who own the stock and therefore the company. But I would be most interested to hear what it is about those transactions that is "crooked" and how it affected you ?
