I am a shell ("topper") fan. I have a flip-up bed cover on my truck right now, but I don't care for it.

Which do you guys prefer. A fiberglass camper shell or the fiberglass bed cover. I’m not hauling anything big enough that wouldn’t fit under a bed cover. Topper with flip up side windows , I want access and storage space

I have used both. Have the bed cover now and as stated it is OK if you do not need to load above the sides of the box. I have trailers so use them for taller loads. Roy

I have the 3 fold cover and roll out bed. For my time in life it works perfect. I like the ability to lock it up!

My brother-in-law is a farrier and has a rollup cover. He has been very happy with it for the access to tools and supplies. I questioned how it would work in the winter due to snow and ice. Several years later he has no problems, but he parks inside every night. Roy

I would never consider the fiberglass bed cover.
I have had a cap / topper on every truck. I want dry, clean, illuminated, lockable storage. Plus the versatility to sleep in the back, or many other options. Right now I have a shelf that spans the bed rails and is 38” front to back. Made of 2x6 tongue and groove yellow pine secured together with Kreg pocket hole screws. So easy to remove. Great for a gear / tool shelf, or bed or whatever. It greatly increases the useable space. I have a Leer fiberglass and it looks nice. They matched the truck paint color perfectly.
For hauling large items, I have a couple trailers.
