When the people that preach about climate change the most give up their private jets, move into efficiency apartments and start using public transportation or riding a bike, then maybe I'll listen. Until then, shut the (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) up about climate change and how fast its happening. Testify brother!!!

I will accept much of the blame after the 15 bean casserole I prepared three days ago. You can't say something like this without posting a recipe lol

The whole taxes to cure global warming reminds me of the tales of the Inca and the like giving human sacrifices for good weather. Exchanging what's most important to the rulers for good luck is a common occurrence throughout history.

Maybe not in this case, but I have noticed lately that thinking for yourself can get you labelled a fringe thinker. Yes, we need "fact checkers" on this site to put a stop to any free thinking and make sure everyone is following the acceptable narritive.

So are you saying they have it all wrong because they're not clever enough to calibrate measurements to technology both past and present?
Surely you must give a little more credit to the world's leading scientists than that. Oh they are clever for sure, but we are talking about accuracy and precision here. Take note of the scale on the graph you posted.

I agree that climate change has been going on forever. The whole point is that it is happening at warp speed right now because of greenhouse gases being released at record rates. What if it is? No one gets out of here alive. I wish some of you were so concerned with the crushing debt we're leaving our kids. It's a much more immediate danger.

That fact everyone needs to think about , is that man isn't going to change what this earth is going to do . You can't fix it by taxes , or by stopping the use of fossil fuels , burning wood or cow farts . Ten volcanos could erupt every two days for a week , and do more to cause global warming than man has done in the last 700 years . ... I gotta agree with you there. If human activity were causing some kind of climate change (which I seriously doubt), there isn't a darn thing we can do to change it. We're going to have to adapt an overcome - so start getting used to it. But to deny that the climate is not different these days than it was 40 years ago seems ridiculous to me. We haven't been able to go ice fishing around here for many years. We just don't get enough ice any more. Well maybe once every few years we might have enough ice for a few days - but not like it used to be. Citing a few days of cold weather every now and then as proof of the lack of a changing climate just makes one sound like a total ig-no-ra-mous.

I agree that climate change has been going on forever. The whole point is that it is happening at warp speed right now because of greenhouse gases being released at record rates. One thing that causes rational thinkers to question the science is the need to use alarmist language like "warp speed" to describe a possible 1.5-1.7 degree change from a defined "normal" for the past 150 years. Since we know the climate has changed in the past and most likely will in the future, perhaps the best approach would be to continue to find ways to adapt as we have in the past rather than hoping to somehow fix it to a stable temperature.

Since we know the climate has changed in the past and most likely will in the future, perhaps the best approach would be to continue to find ways to adapt as we have in the past rather than hoping to somehow fix it to a stable temperature. I would venture to guess comparative to at least most and probably nearly all 150 year slices our current apparent changes are extreme. I’m not going to say I agree we are in quite as dire of straits as many claim, as with most things the reality probably lies somewhere in the middle. But as some have eluded to us humans not having the ability to have any significant affect on our climate and weather…….well, I disagree. Extreme Deforestation, filling of wetlands everywhere, blacktop and pavement everywhere, the list goes on. The little cumulative things add up IMO. To deny that all of this together has ANY negative affect on climate or at least the health of our planet as a whole I think shows pure ignorance. To be fair, I agree we absolutely can’t avoid having an impact so long as we are alive and long after, and I accept this fact but do what I can within reason to curtail it. Yes I have a smartphone, wear clothes, and have multiple vehicles…..I’m contributing to the situation and well aware of that. And no I’m not a scientist nor do I plan to cite everything I’ve read or saw to come to my opinion! :-D Happy trapping! ScottW

What I find ironic is people who bash fellow trappers for not caring about Our natural environment. If you’re referring to what atrapper or myself said and call that “bashing”, well, I don’t know what to do besides laugh. With all the other name calling and backhanded bashing so many frequently do on here nothing we said comes close to qualifying as bashing. Happy trapping! ScottW

Keep in mind that scientists and researchers depend on alarming statistics to keep their jobs secure and grant mon ey rolling in.

It goes both ways. That's SOP.
When I was in grade school they were talking about another ice age. Now its the opposite. In another 40 to 50 years it will probably be back to another ice age. Looking out the window the last few weeks, I would think another ice age is coming!!! But, then I remember it is January in Ohio. It's winter!!! As others above have stated, it goes both ways. I agree with you.

I suppose referring to others perspectives on the subject as "pure ignorance" might have drawn the bashing flag. Anyway, I don't think anyone claimed that mans actions have absolutely no impact on the weather or climate. Both atrapper and you have valid points about individuals taking reasonable steps to protect the environment. But, if you can't see that the end game on all this climate change histeria is far more than individuals taking reasonable steps, you better take a closer look.
