I wrap them around the bottom swivel on foot holds.

I attached them to the s hook near the stake on cable restraints.

Body grips, I wrap them around the stake end also.

Edit, to add I don’t need to tag muskrat traps, but still do.

I use duke traps and I use the copper tags. So I wrap the copper tags right under my pan on the trap base

Just an 18 year old trapper trying to learn...

Depends on the tags you use. I make mine, so I roll them on a link of chain, but I DO like that under pan thing! Btw, if you weld the cross on the frame, and bend the jaw ends of those Dukes, they will hold a coyote as well as anything around my area!

Run snare wire through the hole on Larry finch tag, or I use electric motor wire to tie to my chain

I roll mine like ADC does .
Snares depends on if I have a wammie or not .
Sometimes I roll them tight and use as the wammie .

On trap chains, I fold a short piece to make a pocket, hook it on the chain and then continue folding it over. Then I squeeze it tight with pliers. It’s secure. 330s get the same on the 1/8” cable. Cages I’ll put a tag on the wire or extension cable. For snares, I pass the built in extension through the eye of the tag.

I use two hole tags...and when I can't get them I drill a second hole so one on each end of tag.
I drill two holes through base of trap then rivet them to the bottom with aluminum pop rivets. Never had one chewed off the bottom of the base of trap since the chains on mine are center mounted and direction of pull is generally away from the bottom of base plate.
On body grips I put it on the chain but run a rivet through both holes. Permanent fix, have to cut the tag to take it off.
Snares get same as pody grips and I put the tag at the end loop where extension or stake go.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
